The National Cadet Corps
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a youth development organization, with an enormous potential for nation building. The NCC provides opportunities to the youth of the country for their all-round development with a sense of duty, commitment, dedication, discipline and moral values so that they become able leaders and useful citizens. It helps the youth to realize the intimate relationship between man and the community, between community and nature and their inter-dependability. NCC training helps the cadets to improve the mental health, cultivates sense of discipline and responsibility, development of social personality and aptitude for leadership and inculcation of the principles and practices of military service.
The NCC Unit was raised in our college on 15th September 2014. The former Principal Dr.G.Sathiyan played a key role in bringing the NCC unit into our college. The College is allotted with 51 vacancy for girls coy (Senior Wing (SW)).
Lt. Dr.K.Maheswari, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work was initially appointed as caretaker and after the completion of Commission at Officers Training Academy (OTA),Gwalior, she is serving as an Associate NCC Officer and the unit is run by the Officer successfully.
Aim
- To create a human resource of organized, trained and motivated youth
- To provide leadership in all walks of life and be readily available for the service of the nation
- To provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in the Indian armed forces
- To develop character, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure, and ideals of selfless service amongst the youth of the nation

NCC social activities
NCC has adopted community development activities with the aim of absorbing amongst cadets selfless service toward the society, importance of self-help, need to protect the environment and to assist weaker sections of the society towards their uplift. Various social service activities are carried out by the ncc cadet and some of the are as follows

- Swatch Bharath Abhiyaan rally
- Walkathon rally
- Cycle rally
- Tree plantation
- No plastic rally
- National Yoga day celebration
- Blood donation camp
The cadets of GASC attend national and regional camps regularly and clear the NCC ‘B” and “C” certificate examinations every year.
