The Department of Microbiology was established in the year 2006 with the allotted seats of 40 in each class. The mission of the Department is to provide quality education and carry out research in the area of Microbiology. The courses which are offered are based on the industrial needs of the upcoming scientific world. Department is undertaking required steps to make the students with immense potentiality the walk of life. 

        The Department is furnished with well-equipped laboratory to provide the practical knowledge in the areas of scientific fields. The Department conducts internship trainings, conferences and other industrial visits for the scientific knowledge and career developments of the students.

        113 students are pursuing their under graduation course. Department consists of 2 Assistant Professors, 2 Guest Faculty. Because offers career opportunities to the Students in the fields of medicine, agriculture and environment. The course provides students the various placements in pharmaceutical and nutraceuticals sectors, hospitals, analytical Laboratories, food and dairy industries, fermentation industries confectioneries and other bioenergy sectors.

        In the time of pandemic lockdown the Department has launched a YouTube channel called Life: The World of Microbes and other online teaching platforms to meet the students and to fulfill their academic needs. The Department has been recognized as a “Research Department” to pursue Doctoral Research in both Full-Time and Part-Time streams.
